Permanent Closure of Highway 96

Based on the Royal directives to secure and protect the Bahrain oil field, the General Secretariat of the Cabinet in coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority will carry out construction works for a security gate south of the Royal Golf Club gate house. Location map below.


Highway 96 will be permanently closed. Construction work will commence on 12th March 2020. Accordingly, it will not be possible to access (Highway 96) for those who come from (Alba roundabout) and vise versa.


These measures taken by the government aim to secure the protection of vital installations and the sustainability of economic security for the Kingdom's strategic projects.

الإغلاق الكلي لشارع 96

بالإشارة إلى التوجيهات الملكية السامية بتأمين وحماية حقل البحرين النفطي، فإن الأمانة العامة لمجلس الوزراء وبالتنسيق مع الهيئة الوطنية للنفط والغاز سيقومون بمباشرة أعمال إنشاء بوابة أمنية بالقرب من مدخل النادي الملكي للغولف، وسيترتب على هذه الأعمال الإغلاق الكلي لشارع 96 بصورة دائمة، وستبدأ الأعمال الإنشائية من تاريخ 12 مارس 2020 ، حسب خارطة الموقع ادناه.


وعليه، فإن هذه البوابة الأمنية الجديدة ستؤدي إلى الإغلاق الكلي لشارع 96، حيث سيتعذر إمكانية الدخول إلى (شارع 96) من القادمين من (دوار ألبا)، كذلك عدم إمكانية الوصول إلى (دوار ألبا) للقادمين من (شارع 96).


هذه الإجراءات التي تتخذها الحكومة تهدف إلى تأمين حماية المنشآت الحيوية واستدامة الأمن الاقتصادي للمشاريع الاستراتيجية للمملكة.
